About Cookies

What is a 'Cookie'?
A Cookie is a small piece of text stored on your computer which will allow us to enhance your experience of our website for return visits.

Why should I enable Cookies?
With cookies disabled you may still be able to use the core services provided by the ComputerJobs website (job search, view and apply) but you will not be able to access any features provided to logged in users or purchase any products via our e-commerce facility.

How do I enable Cookies?
To enable Cookies, please choose the web browser you are currently using. If your browser is not listed below, please consult its help resources.

Internet Explorer

To enable cookies in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 or 9:
  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Click the Internet Options icon. If you are in 'Category' view, you may first need to click the Network and Internet Connections category.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Select Override automatic cookie handling under the "Cookies" section in the Advanced Privacy Settings window.
  6. Select the "Accept" or "Prompt" option under "First-party Cookies".
  7. Select the "Accept" or "Prompt" option under "Third-party Cookies" (if you select the "Prompt" option, you'll be asked for approval every time a website attempts to send you a cookie).
  8. In the Internet Options window, click OK to exit.

Firefox

To enable cookies in Mozilla Firefox 3.x or newer for Windows:
  1. Click Tools > Options.
  2. Click Privacy in the top panel.
  3. Set "Firefox will:" to Use custom settings for history.
  4. Check the box next to "Accept cookies from sites" to enable cookies.
  5. Click OK.

Google Chrome

To enable cookies in Google Chrome:
  1. Click the 'wrench' icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. Click Content settings in the "Privacy" section.
  5. Select Allow local data to be set to allow both first-party and third-party cookies. If you only want to accept first-party cookies, check the box next to "Block all third-party cookies without exception."

Safari

To enable cookies in Apple Safari:
  1. Go to the Safari drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Security in the top panel.
  4. Under "Accept Cookies" select Only from sites you navigate to.

Opera

To enable cookies in Opera:
  1. Go to the Tools drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Advanced tab in the top panel.
  4. Select the Cookies category.
  5. Select "Accept Cookies".
  6. Click OK.
