Description

Key Role:

Provide data engineering support to the Army client to design, develop, and support technical intelligence (TECHINT) processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) systems. Assist with the execution of technical objectives, including software algorithm, software development, life cycle management, and various data related products, such as ETL, DBMS, data integration, data modeling tools, and XML schema within budgetary and schedule guidelines. Design and build databases and develop strategies for data acquisition and archive recovery. Work in a data warehouse environment, including data design, database architecture, and metadata repository creation. Review and develop object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access. Evaluate reusability of current data for additional analyses and conduct data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data. Work well within cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds and leverage technology experience with data engineering, database architecture and design, and software development. This position is located in Aberdeen, MD.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with software design and database architecture
-Experience with programming with an object-oriented language, including Java, C++, C#, or Python
-Experience with various data related products, including ETL, DBMS, data integration, data modeling tools, and XML
-Experience with consulting
-Knowledge of the software development life cycle
-Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a complex and dynamic environment
-Ability to logically decompose a problem, work through a technical approach, and attack the problem in a systematic way
-Ability to work effectively under pressure and interact with government personnel
-TS/SCI clearance required
-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or EE

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with machine learning, data mining, clustering, algorithm development, or statistical analysis
-Experience with Hadoop MapReduce and HDFS
-Knowledge of Army intelligence systems
-Knowledge of no-SQL or column oriented distributed databases
-MA or MS degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, EE, CS, or Computer Engineering preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
