Description

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for network engineering duties and design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including portions of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG). Gather mission needs statements Initial Capabilities Document (MNSICD), operational requirements Capability Development Documents (ORCDD), and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army's tactical communications systems and translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-based and cost efficient. Develop network architecture for adjacent higher and lower units, allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial service interfaces and maintain responsibility for the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the WIN-T INC1 network. Support technical tasks in the integration of data, voice, video, and telephony in the WIN-T INC1 Network, engineering and technical documentation, assistance in the development of technical requirements, specifications, plans, and reports, software and hardware engineering, preparation of independent assessments, systems engineering, technical expertise at fielding locations, test and evaluation, architectural and interoperability support, and quality engineering. Provide technical support in INC1 equipment labs and develop equipment and network configurations and products. Support technology insertion testing relative to emerging WIN-T INC 1 Networks requirements and capabilities and provide technical expertise at field locations, as required. Participate in technical working groups and convey requirements and thoughts to other subject matter experts.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with network engineering with military communications networks
-Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies
-Ability to work with installation, safety, and integration teams to ensure successful project implementations
-Ability to travel 20-30% of the time and up to 50% during peak installation periods
-Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with managing small to medium projects from the development effort to the execution point
-Knowledge of other network disciplines, including IA, voice and video, and NETOPS
-Knowledge of Converged Ethernet Over IP (EOIP) networks
-BA or BS degree in CS, EE, or a related field preferred

Clearance:
