Description
Key Role:
Serve as a Mid-Tier Networking Vehicular Radio (MNVR) network engineer (NE) to support product integration with networking radio products, including the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW), the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW), the Joint Enterprise Networking Manager (JENM), and other Army networking communications products on the battlefield, such as the Warfigher Information Network - Tactical (WIN-T). Design and develop Radio Mission Data Set (RMDS) files that are required to support MNVR systems in the intended tactical environment. Interact with other programs that are introducing networking systems into the Army with which MNVR interacts. Participate in various forums hosted by radio product developers to ensure that the MNVR product continues to remain relevant to the user and interoperable with other tactical networking systems. Provide subject matter expertise for technical assessments and studies related to network architectures, system designs, and radio products. Assist in translating DoD user requirements into system requirements which shall be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate radio systems, subsystems, and equipment.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience with networking product development and engineering
-Experience with networking planning and management systems with a focus on planning and management of joint military networks
-Experience with exercises and field work with JTRS Network Management and Radio products
-Experience with configuring, operating, and troubleshooting radios developed to JTRS Standards, including Ground Mobile Radio, Handheld and Manportable System, Rifleman and Manpack Radios, and other non-developmental item radios
-Knowledge of JTRS Network Management products, including the Joint Enterprise Networking Manager version 2 products
-Knowledge of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW), Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW), and other networking waveforms
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with customer service
-Experience with performing functional testing of integrated products
-Experience with formally evaluating products and vendors
-Knowledge of the processes that result in DoD approval of the ISP preferred
-Ability to create and edit program documents, including the Information Support Plan (ISP) preferred
-Ability to travel up to 15% per calendar quarter
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BA or BS degree in Engineering or CS preferred
Clearance:
