Position Summary:
Responsible for building, testing and implementing the Epic clinical modules, as well as future upgrades. Conducts workflow analysis, design and build sessions with Subject Matter Experts (including physicians, nursing, respiratory care, pharmacy and other ancillary services) and trainers. This includes obtaining an in depth knowledge of the Epic application, leading to Epic certification. Maintaining and resolving the issues log within the project plan, as well as conveying project status. Serves as a bridge between Epic and Akron Childrens Hospital implementation team through regular day to day communication and the end-users. Serve as the primary contact with department leadership. Develop and maintain internal policies and procedure that will be utilized with the application and maintain appropriate documentation. Assist with the analysis of data conversion and interface needs. Able to work independently as well as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate a positive mental attitude. Attend status meetings and be accountable for those items assigned to them and/or their area of responsibility. Assist in the evaluation of other project team members and students as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED with a minimum of eight (8) years related experience or Associate degree with a minimum of four (4) years related experience or a Bachelor Degree with a minimum of two (2) years related experience required. Degree and experience in healthcare or IT. related fields preferred. Ability to obtain certification for those areas/classes required/recommended by Epic and/or Akron Childrens Hospital (ASAP, Ambulatory, etc.) Excellent communication, mentoring and team building skills. Familiarity with project management concepts, tools, statusing and risk assessments and remediation alternatives. Demonstrate computer literacy, including the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Ability to work a Full time (40 hours/week) schedule, which may include some after hours and call responsibilities. Ability to travel to obtain certification, attend meetings (User Group, Advisory Council) as requested by Epic/Akron Childrens Hospital.
