POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Build, configure, maintain, and support the Cache database and Unix environments. Provide database administration for the Cache and DB2 systems. Responsible for designing, managing and monitoring both Unix and iSeries environments. Creates standards for server installs as well as performs new installs and upgrades on more complex environments. Additional responsibilities include providing Disaster Recovery documentation for the environments under their responsibility and provide performance analysis. Prepares project plans and provides estimates for project tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Associates Degree in computer related field required but a Bachelors degree is preferred. 5-7 years of job related experience is required. Solid working experience designing, building, configuring, and supporting a large Cache database environment. Epic Cache DBA certification is required or should be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Extensive knowledge of high availability, database failover models, and hardware architectures in a Unix and iSeries environment is required. Extensive knowledge of backup applications for Cache, Unix, and iSeries systems is required. Knowledge of SAN connectivity, Shell Scripting, LPAR, and virtualization options is required. Experience working with networking protocols, clustering, replication, encryption, tape/disk drives, and backup and restore technologies. A qualified individual for this position should be self motivated and hardworking. The candidate must be able to prioritize work assignments and work on difficult tasks with minimal supervision.
