Configuration Coordinator

Summary of Responsibilities

Coordinates activities within Configuration area to ensure department completes projects within set target dates. Contributes in implementation of new market business, market growth, issue resolution, configuration of provider contracts and benefits. Mentors junior level configuration staff and serves as go-to person in absence of management.

Essential Functions
1. Develops realistic project scope estimates, detailed project plans, and timelines with peers. Assesses alternatives to different designs and chooses best solution to fit business needs.

2. Develops and maintains departmental performance reports, develops training documentation, policies & procedures and maintains electronic databases for document retention and audits.

3. Considers interdepartmental impact when recommending solutions and identifies opportunities for interdepartmental utilization of recommended solutions.

4. Performs complex data modelling and database testing design with minimal oversight.

5. Provides status and forecasting reports/metrics to Configuration Management and escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources.

6. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.

7. Coordinates and performs internal audits and assessments to proactively test compliance with system requests, plan documents, contracts, etc. Develops and implements corrective action plans and improvement programs within the department.

8. Conducts and participates in initial scope definition meetings, ensures adherence to all proposal requirements, creates schedules and encourages the configuration team to meet deadlines.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor Degree, or may substitute with 4 years like experience.

Required Experience

4+ years plus performing same or similar responsibilities. Relevant experience includes: Benefit configuration/design at a complex/senior level in a managed care or healthcare environment.
