JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sr. Unix Systems Administrator will lead a small, dedicated support team providing Unix customer support and will direct personnel in the
performance of incident and problem management activities necessary to restore services after scheduled or unplanned disruptions in service.

- Provide system administration for the customer and is responsible for the management and maintenance of Unix servers.
- Activities include:

- Monitoring hosted applications to ensure availability, performing routing and routine and advanced Unix system administration (eg required back-ups (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
- Proactive tuning of IT assets to ensure maximum availability and optimal server performance
- Providing daily and on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve customer trouble calls reported by the customer and for initiating proactive measures to prevent detected and potential problems from impacting customer operations.
- Provides change recommendations to the government customer and participates as subject matter expert in government lead Change Advisory Board meetings.
- Assists Tier III engineers in the design, development and testing of government approved changes to operating systems and delivered services.

Qualifications

:
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance with SSBI.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 3 years experience with Unix (Solaris, HP/UX, or Linux). Experience in a production data center environment.

CERTIFICATIONS:

- Must have or be able to obtain IT-1 System Access. (may start on program with interim IT-1 eligibility)
- Must be able to meet DODI 8570.1-M certification requirements within 180 days of start on contract to include: CompTIA Security + and OS/NE/CE certification such as MCP, CCNA, HP Administrator

EDUCATION:

- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related studies or 4 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
