CGI is currently hiring a Solution Architect familiar with data strategies for Terminal Automation Systems.

This included experience as an IT Systems Architect and a Data Architect. The chosen individual also needs previous experience w Terminal Autmation Systems such as (Toptech TMS, Fuel Facs (FBS), DKI Omega.)

Location: Virtual - Houston, TX or Calgary, Canada strongly preferred, but able to work virtually if you have the right background and experience for this assignment.

Duration: Estimated duration through February 2014

Project/Delivery Line Description
Terminal Automation Systems are installed locally at depots and terminals with 1 installation per site. To complicate the issue, we chose to use 3 different TAS applications across the world. Therefore, the ability to make use of terminal related data across individual terminals and even regions has been very limited in the past.

In 2011/2012 a business lead MS Access pilot solution (called TAS Data Unlock) was successful in making some terminal data (gate to gate performance and terminal usage) available for across-terminal reporting. This pilot demonstrates the value that can be achieved, but the solution is not sustainable from a technical and organizational perspective.

Future versions of our strategic TAS solutions will simplify access to the TAS data, while at the same time new tools and platforms are available in Shell that better support the process of mapping and aggregating data from various sources and presenting it in flexible and user-friendly ways. Now the intention is to look at the opportunities related to terminal data more holistically, and to determine the IT strategy how and when to realize them.

Key Deliverables:
The investigation is expected to deliver the following:
- A detailed description of the requirements including business benefits.
- Determination of the IT approach how and when to implement the requirements, compiled into a project plan for execution from 2014 onwards. This includes selection of the IT platform(s) to use.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop a strategy document that lists options to capture, use (reporting), and archive TAS data. (TAS - Terminal Automation Systems).

Education: BS Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or other related technical degree at a 4 year University
