Job Description: Specialist 1014

Provide application support and database management services for Public Safety systems with a focus on the Spectrum Justice System (SJS).
1. Support the implementation of the Spectrum Justice System (SJS) Incident/Arrest application and Oracle databases at over 225 public safety agencies throughout New York State.
2. Develop PL/SQL programs and XML operations for data extracts, data retrieval, data storage, and implementation of business rules.
3. Develop and maintain export/import utilities, and backup/recovery utilities with a focus on SJS.
4. Perform consolidation of multiple SJS databases into single databases for public safety agencies wishing to consolidate operations.
5. Develop scripts utilizing Windows Scripting language and Oracle SQL to correct data issues and/or application defects.
6. Perform diagnosis/repair/recovery activities for SJS Oracle databases deployed at many remote SJS sites.
7. Use DBA tools to monitor, diagnose, and fix performance issues with SJS database environments.
8. Work off-hours occasionally to support SJS Database maintenance, operational procedures, and initiatives.
9. Perform Oracle software upgrades on SJS databases.
10. Provide related Public Safety system support to the above tasks as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum of 60 months as a PL/SQL Programmer with applications development experience writing, testing, and debugging applications code written in Oracle PL/SQL including XML Operations.
