Java Application Architect
Skills: Java, J2EE, (Oracle, WebSphere, JQuery), EJB3, Internet application architecture/development, Object Oriented Analysis and Design OOA/OOD, SQL
Summary:
As the Application Architect your primary responsibility will be working on the flagship product for our client. You will be responsible for developing applications, frameworks, components necessary to support and drive a suite of robust complex Internet applications and E-business products. You will be involved in all phases of development including design, implementation, testing, and deployment. In addition, you will interface with Product Management to understand business requirements and quality requirements, as well as work with engineers, other architects, and managers to formulate and address strategic and tactical initiatives. This is more of a mentoring role where there is 10% coding, 50/60% oversight/advisement and design, and 30% communicating with the architecture team on future projects. The ideal candidate can juggle 3-4 projects, is not a Full time coder, has a passion for technology and is a technical leader (not necessarily a manager). Responsibilities:
- Define the system, technical, and application architecture for the cloud-based Workforce Now application to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology.
- Analyze, Design, build, document and test Java applications in the HR domain
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team of Java developers
- Coordinate work teams and provide technical support to team members
- Improve efficiency of Java development with process and tools
- Perform design and code reviews
- Ensure that design and architecture is well positioned to meet future need
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of OO language experience with a minimum of 5 years hands on Java coding.
- 5+ years of Object Oriented Analysis and Design
- 5+ years Internet application development
- 4+ years SQL
- Demonstrated experience with Agile software development, preferably in an enterprise environment
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Strong communication skills
- Sense of humor and belief that work can be fun
