Oracle DBA

SolTech, a local leading-edge technology services firm, is looking for an Oracle DBA who will be responsible for improving database performance for a global commerce platform through analysis and tuning. Primary responsibility will be leading an effort to improve Oracle DB performance through analysis and tuning.

• Ability to perform system review
• Ability to produce performance recommendations and implement them
• Availability for ongoing support or issue troubleshooting
• Ability to look into source code that calls database queries
• Creates and maintains maintenance schedules for database Servers.
• Maintains existing and implements new monitoring and alerting.
• Assists business staff in managing data as it is developed and moves through various environments.
• Works closely with the database architect to implement data models and adhere to standards.
• Supports development and business with logical and physical models designs.
• Proactively review database configuration, security, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database monitoring and ensuring production stability.
• Work closely with members of our engineering and capacity and optimization groups to help define the platforms and tools used in our production environment.
• 10+ year experience as Oracle DBA in UNIX environment
• Extensive experience supporting database with RAC and Oracle ASM (11g version).
• Extensive experience with SQL & PL/SQL code development, code review and application tuning.
• Experience with Oracle database and Linux system performance tuning.
• Experience with performance monitoring.Experience with Oracle DataGuard, backup/recovery process, RMAN, database cloning.
• Experience working with Grid Control, and other performance monitoring tool.
• Experience with Linux and Shell Scripting.Experience working with Oracle support in solving the problems.
• Experience in applying databases patch.Strong ability in troubleshooting complex issue & problem solving.
• Committed to standardization process, and documentation.
• Ability to work out-of-office hour, and supporting the on-call rotation (7x24 support).
• Experience in code migration, database change management through various stages of development life cycle.
• Highly motivated with a commitment to quality service.
• Ability to be a team player and to work independently
• Desirable: Experience in supporting PostgreSQL database.
• Experience as Oracle Applications DBA, supporting Oracle eBusiness Financials.
