Essential Job Functions:

- Supervise the performance of both routine and emergency services within the data center on a variety of state of the art critical systems, including but not limited to; medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.

- Monitoring and maintenance of DC facilities, including power, HVAC, Fire Detection/Suppression and Security Systems.

- Ensure that facility problems are identified and repaired quickly and make sure all customer demands are being met.

- Supervise the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is preformed according to established practices and procedures.

- Write procedures, create system MOPs for work activities

- Maintain current versions of all procedures and documentation on the Sharepoint portal

- Install, test, and terminate data/telecommunications cables, including Cat5e, Coax, and Fiber media to TIA standards.

- Install circuit cross-connect jumpers, and test carrier circuits with customer or telecom carrier.

- Install equipment cages, racks, and cabinets to house customer's network, data equipment, and power circuits. (Power is installed by licensed electricians)

- Mount all equipment to standards documented in the CI Sharepoint portal.

- Monitor and properly address facility alarms such as: equipment alarms, overheating, circuit overloads, etc.

- Issue customer cabinet and cage keys and building access cards to new customers

- Provide prompt response to customer trouble tickets, requesting equipment reboots, circuit testing, etc.

- Close out trouble tickets and customer Change request.

- Perform customer inventories, ie, equipment components, power circuits, x-connects, etc.

- Receipt, tracking, and storage of customer package shipment

- Operate telecommunications test equipment and evaluate stress patterns on circuits.

- Maintain all required company records including circuit inventory, customer information, contact information, and all necessary information.

- Maintain company specifications and company operating procedures libraries.

- Escalation and emergency response to circuit and customer equipment troubles on a 24/7 on-call basis.

Job Requirements:

- Five years experience in Data Center operations supporting building/systems control system, mechanical infrastructure, electrical infrastructure and fire protection.

- Either a licensed journeyman/master electrician or mechanical HVAC certified engineer with 5 years experience working in a Data Center

- Familiarity with cable color coding and termination

- Must be able to contribute and support 24x7x365 operation

- Required to work 3 rd shift 6PM-6AM

- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform work requiring extended walking and bending

- Excellent written and verbal communication

- Strong customer service skills

- Good decision-making skills

- Ability to maintain clear and concise documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proficient in Visio, Microsoft Office, Remedy and Sharepoint.

- Basic understanding of Internet technology

- Two years experience with cabling and installation of computer and network equipment in a data center environment.

- Detail oriented documentation of processes and procedures

- Previous experience with Sharepoint

- Experience with change management and incident management processes.

Education and Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel Requirements:
Travel 0-10%
