Essential Job Functions:
The Lead Project Manager, Messaging and Collaboration will be accountable for managing customer IT infrastructure installation projects in support of messaging and collaboration projects on behalf of NaviSite. The Lead Project Manager will work closely with a team of project managers who support customer installation projects. Each individual project is based on customer requirements and the specific effort to complete. Projects typically range from 12 - 30+ weeks. Engineering support teams consist of 4-20 technical engineering resources across multiple engineering teams. The Messaging and Collaboration Project Managers are the "engine of progress" they understand the customer goals and requirements, understand each engineering tower of the project, and own the logistical intersections between towers. The Lead Project Manager has comprehensive ownership and accountability for both the delivery of standalone projects to include management, communication, status reporting, and billing as well as, providing oversight and tracking for the entire messaging and collaboration project management team.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong project management skills and thorough knowledge and daily use of project planning tools such as Microsoft Projects

- Deep knowledge of messaging implementations and core concepts of messaging and collaboration, especially within the Microsoft suite of messaging and collaboration

- Working knowledge of datacenter operations and technical implementations such as networking, hardware build out, O/S build out

- Previous personnel management experience

- Strong experience in leading, managing and participating in cross-functional IT infrastructure projects specifically for Microsoft Exchange, Lync, SharePoint and Collaboration installations.

- Experience in small, mid, and large-scale project management, including the management of project teams

- Ability to develop strong professional relationships and to influence peers, managers, other teams and customers

- Strong written and oral communication

- Strong facilitation skills

- Working knowledge of Program Management Best Practices

- Ability to multi-task between concurrent assignments and to work in a fast pace organization

- Expert working knowledge capabilities with MicroSoft projects, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other identified project management tools

- Working knowledge of contract review and billing processes

- Very strong attention to detail

- 7+ years past experience in related businesses and fields

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Lead: Assigns, trains, schedules or oversees work of others.
