Senior Staff IC Design Engineer - Network Switch

Auto req ID 26080BR Job Posting Title Senior Staff IC Design Engineer - Network Switch Business Unit Infrastructure and Networking Job Description Become a member of the IC design team within the Network Switch organization working on development of cutting edge designs targeted for high end Switches and routers. You will be involved with all phases of the product development cycle from initial concept to volume production. The devices we work on are some of the largest and fastest developed by Broadcom.

As a principal member of the IC design team you will work on the following efforts:
- Initial chip definition/feasibility with the architecture and marketing teams.
- Specification of block-level or chip-level micro architecture.
- Implementation of the design in Verilog or System Verilog.
- Synthesis and SDC generation.
- Active engagement with the physical design team to achieve timing closure of high speed designs.
- Working closely with the verification team as the design is verified in either simulation or emulation.
- As needed work with the silicon validation team once the devices are in the lab..LI-VV1

Job Requirements Experience required is typically a BS degree and 9 years of experience or an MS degree and 6 years of experience or a PhD and
3 years of experience.

Strong RTL coding experience required as well knowledge of overall ASIC design flow to include synthesis, timing analysis and simulation.

Knowledge of Ethernet protocols and experience designing silicon for high-speed Switches and Routers is a plus but not required.

Experience in the following areas are desired:
- High speed logic design ( 1GHz )
- Primetime timing closure
- Perl and Tcl scripting
- SerDes and DDR interface designs
- Low power design practices
- Soft error rate analysis and SER reduction
- Experience debugging both pre and post silicon problems

The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills, the ability to work in a team environment with local and off site engineers and have a positive can do anything attitude.
