Position Summary
Masco Cabinetry is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) who will partner with our business leaders to develop and execute an Information Technology (IT) strategy in support of our business goals. Reporting to the President of Masco Cabinetry, the incumbent is responsible for providing the thought and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that supports business development (sales and marketing), improves cost effectiveness, creates competitive advantage, and continuously improves operational efficiency in a constantly changing, competitive marketplace.
Responsibilities include:
Enterprise-Wide Planning
- Participates as an integral member in the strategic planning process through the development of company-wide strategic goals with a focus on how technology can improve the company's strategic position.
- Participates as a member of Masco Corporations' CIO Council which focuses on Masco's enterprise-wide IT strategy and issues.
- Updates the Masco Cabinetry's leadership team on our technical advancements and information services.
- Works directly with the Chief Marketing Officer on eBusiness strategy and execution.
- Determines long-term, corporate-wide information needs and develop overall strategies in system development and hardware acquisition, and integration which will ensure capacity to meet business demands.
- Ensures data integrity, proprietary information and related intellectual property through information security and access management.
- Develops and maintains enterprise systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software, and interconnection of various business information systems.
Leadership
- Participates as a member of the senior leadership team on all business matters with an emphasis on technology.
- Provides direction on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
- Identifies changes in trends in computer and systems technology with an emphasis on Operations, eBusiness and social commerce, and provides responsive advice, counsel, and education to senior management.
- Communicates IT plans, policies and technology trends throughout the company including team members, franchisee and business partners as appropriate.
- Determines pertinent information required by management to make effective decisions. Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of this information occur in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner.
Management and Oversight
- Participates in overall business planning bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company's competitive position.
- Evaluates alternatives for the enhancement or re-engineering of IT in keeping with the needs and objectives of the company.
- Develops and enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information.
- Develops and maintains and enterprise-wide IT recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster.
- Approves and deploys resources to manage and control all projects related to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
- Develops and maintains an appropriate organization structure capable of supporting the information needs of the company through appropriate cost-effective information technology.
- Negotiates IT service level agreements with user departments and monitors IT service level support.
Human Resource Management
- Responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of a diverse and high performing multi-level IT team conforming to budgetary objectives and Human Resources policy and programs.
Financial Management
- Develops and maintains annual operation and capital budgets for the Information Technology department.
- Develops and maintains policies and standards aimed at minimizing costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of IT systems.
- Maintains contact with key IT suppliers and maintains knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices, and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet agreed customer service levels. Evaluates alternatives, performs appropriate cost benefit analysis, and recommends solutions that minimize costs with acceptable risks.
- Reviews corporate-wide hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts.
Required Experience, Education and Other Qualifications
Experience
- Demonstrated progressive, visionary experience with Web, wireless and Cloud infrastructures, consumer and customer portals, and E-commerce applications and solutions.
- Demonstrated thought leadership around IT solutions for business and manufacturing/operational processes.
- Demonstrated success developing and leading a high performance, multi-level IT workforce.
- Minimum of ten years of demonstrated success and progressive experience in managing key sub-functions of IT (infrastructure, applications (ERP), eBusiness, and compliance) for a manufacturing consumer product business.
- Minimum of three years of direct leadership of IT infrastructure and operations for a small to medium size organization. Two or more years of operations experience is essential, preferably in IT planning and supporting strategic business goals.
Education
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field; advanced degree preferred.
