ARINC in Annapolis, MD is looking for a Network Operations Specialist to support our AOC (ARINC's Operations Center). The AOC supports more than 40 different applications and products for over 3,000 customers worldwide. This mission critical center operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, and 365-days/year with 99.999% availability.

The successful candidate will:
- Perform basic tasks through the use of established techniques, documented processes, and accepted methods
- Monitor Micromuse Netcool browser for alarm indications
- Open and update trouble tickets using Remedy trouble ticketing application
- Perform basic telco circuit testing and basic operations using Network Management System GUI and basic CISCO Router commands
- Perform radio and UPS reboots
- Daily tasks including monthly dial backup checks
- Notify management of significant events
- Work continuously and closely with internal and external customers keeping them advised on system status with the goal of exceeding customer expectations.

*If an external candidate is selected, the successful candidate will be employed by a staffing agency as a contractor to ARINC for a temp-to-hire period of six months.*

Qualifications Required Experience:
- One or more years of experience in a Network Operations Center.
- The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of standard techniques and methods to include Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Servers.
- Remedy trouble ticketing system.
- Micromuse Netcool System.
- HP Openview System.
- What's Up Gold network monitoring system.
- Must have a general understanding of telecommunications technology, to include: VHF, HF, Microwave, and Satellite equipment. General troubleshooting knowledge of ATM, Frame Relay, MPLS, DSL, and SONET networks.
- Basic knowledge of CISCO Routers, Switches.

Desired Experience:
- Two or more years with prior experience in a Network Operations Center where 24 hour coverage is required. Experience with the ARINC Service Desk or ARINC Operations Center preferred.

Education or Certification Requirements:
- Typically requires some CISCO course completion. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent technical experience with two or more years of college.
