ARINC's Global Network & IT Solutions Division in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support ARINC's Operations Center (AOC). The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of ARINC's network services. The individual will administer, monitor, operate, maintain the network and provide technical support in order to troubleshoot and repair system and network anomalies.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide Tier III Technical Support to the ARINC Operation Center (AOC) ensuring uninterrupted, unimpaired service on ARINC's transport, messaging, and GLOBALink systems.
- Troubleshoot and provide engineering solutions for new service implementations, equipment installation and configuration, and fault restoration. Analyze issues to provide high reliability data communications.
- Provide technical assistance and support to a Cisco based, MPLS network with 10 core sites and over 1000 remote sites.
- Assist and support the AOC Incident Management staff in fault isolation procedures.
- Provide operational support to implementation and engineering efforts within ARINC's wide area network (WAN) and server farm environments.
- Work with onsite field technicians, or service provider staff to fault isolate and correct any network or service affecting failure.
- Provide technical leadership to less experienced members of the AOC.
- Standard first shift with possibility of rotating weekends and availability to join on call rotation.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Experience:
- Five or more years of experience and working knowledge of: IP routing (BGP & OSPF); Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP); Network Address Translation (NAT) and Dial-on-Demand Routing (DDR).
- Requires experience troubleshooting and configuring network hardware devices to include routers, switches, firewalls and servers.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues that have been escalated to Tier II and Tier III support in a 24x7 hour operational environment.
Desired Experience:
- RF systems troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting tools including sniffers, Nexus trace, Net Scout, and knowledge of basic UNIX command structure.
Education/Certifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical area, in lieu of Degree, related work experience will be accepted.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA/CCNP). Amount of Travel Required for Position 0 - 25
