Job Description: Field Engineer - Intermediate

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal! CGI is seeking a Field Network Engineer - Intermediate to support DoD in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Performs detailed and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required in order to assess/analyze site preparedness, develop implementation plans and associated cost estimates.

- Coordinates with users, site/base support and or facilities personnel, network manager(s) and controllers, long haul and local carriers for installation, cutover, activation, deactivation planning and execution.

- Performs installation/de-installation/upgrade/interface actions associated with network components at user locations.

- Facilitates and finalizes all aspects of site acceptance.

- Provides functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to Associate and Intermediate personnel.

- Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met.

- Provide reports, either completion reports for all implementation work completed, and site survey reports for any surveys completed.

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

- The ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Experience with current DISN Core Equipment - Juniper, CISCO, ODXCs, Sycamore, COMSEC, ATM, and Promina
- Possess a vast working knowledge of various networking technologies and devices (ie routers, switches, etc.) from multiple manufacturers, and possess a thorough understanding of the necessary requirements to support and install network infrastructure equipment including space, power, HVAC, and network cabling and connectivity.
- Personnel supporting this requirement shall have a minimum of four years of practical work experience in the installation, configuration, testing, and upgrade of data communications equipment/services, to include cryptographic devices, and in the installation, activation, relocation, and decommissioning of network circuits and trunks.
- Thorough understanding of and be able to apply commercial best practices used to support and implement network infrastructure equipment.

Education Requirements:
