Job Description: Network Design Engineer - Associate
Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal! CGI is seeking a Network Design Engineer - Associate to support DoD in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Act as network design engineer associate for DISA's DISN Implementation Site Survey, Engineering, and Telecommunication Site Implementation Plan (TSIP) support task.
- Assists in network design and is responsible for taking high level architecture diagrams, system specifications, site surveys, TSOs, completion reports, configuration templates and other support documentation to assist in the development of TSIPs for network installers.
- Reviews completion reports of completed installation work.
- Updates master engineering configuration database.
- Provides engineering direction to the design of network systems.
- Develops multiple alternate designs at each development level, and trade-off results that trigger iteration of the design process.
- Designs highly complex networks that typically link numerous computing platforms, operating systems, and network topologies across widely dispersed geographical areas.
- Responsible for the implementation of engineering processes that provide for timely and appropriate integration of all engineering disciplines to ensure a network system design that meets all requirements.
- Identifies problems and risk areas and mitigates their impact. Performs technical design reviews.
REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
- The ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- MS Word
- SharePoint
- College-level written and oral Communication
- Experience with current DISN Core Infrastructure and equipment - Juniper, CISCO, Sycamore, COMSEC, ATM, and Promina.
DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
- MS Visio
- TSIP Experience
