Job Description: Network Design Engineer - Lead

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal! CGI is seeking a Network Design Engineer - Lead to support DoD in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Provides leadership and mentoring of junior engineers on task.
- Manages team of engineers to peer reviews engineering of other network design engineers to design and develop implementation engineering plans and documentation.
- Responsive for the development of TSIPs using high level architecture diagrams, system specifications, site surveys, TSOs, completion reports and other support documentation and develops TSIPs for network installers. Reviews completion reports of completed installation work.
- Updates master engineering configuration database.
- Provides leadership and engineering direction to the design of network systems.
- Develops and implements strategy for generating multiple alternate designs at each development level, and trade-off results which trigger iteration of the design process.
- Designs and implements highly complex networks that typically link numerous computing platforms, operating systems, and network topologies across widely dispersed geographical areas.
- Responsible for the implementation of engineering processes that provide for timely and appropriate integration of all engineering disciplines to ensure a network system design that meets all requirements.
- Identifies problems and risk areas and mitigates their impact.
- Performs technical design reviews.
- Provides functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to Associate and Intermediate personnel.
- Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met.

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

- The ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- MS Word
- MS PowerPoint
- Excellent Written and Oral Communication
- Ability to interpret requirements into scheduled activities
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load
- Thorough understanding of and be able to apply commercial best practices used to support and implement network infrastructure equipment. Experience with current DISN Core Infrastructure and equipment - Juniper, CISCO, Sycamore, COMSEC, ATM, and Promina.
- TSIP Experience.
