Description
Key Role:
Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise to assist clients with developing DoD-wide IPv4 and IPv6 network architecture guidance, with an emphasis on developing solutions that address interoperability and end-to-end performance issues. Develop solutions related to the deployment of IP-based QoS and multicast across an IPsec VPN encrypted core. Define approaches that identify how to deploy IPv6 solutions in a tactical environment while integrating tactical IP to terrestrial networks. Work with clients to define a transition plan and overall architecture to support the migration from IPv4-based to IPv6-based networks and analyze the current state and requirements of DoD networks, systems, and services in transitioning to IPv6. Coordinate with major stakeholders and the CIO to ensure concurrence with the guidance that we provide and implement best practice and industry standards. Develop DoD IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack-based incremental network architecture, service infrastructure solution, and implementation guidance for near-, mid- and far-term GIG IPv6 inter-domain routing architecture and GIG networking service architecture, including DNS or HAIPE GDS and establish a technical framework and approach to GIG IPv6 network management and IA requirements. This position is located in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:-8+ years of experience with architecting and designing IPv4- and IPv6-based networks-8+ years of experience with deploying a multi-service all-IP infrastructure over a hybrid network environment, including wireless, IP SATCOM, and core network environment-5 years of experience with key IP network technologies, including those involving QoS, multicast, and IP routing protocols, such as PIM, DiffServ, BGP, OSPF, or MPLS-5 years of experience with network security, including IPSec VPNs and how to migrate them into a network to meet DoD and government requirements-Experience with commercial and government IPv6 transition and implementation best practices and industry standards in ISP and large enterprise environments-Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack architecture and implementations-Knowledge of IPv6 transition techniques and design patterns-TS/SCI clearance-BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:-Experience with federal and DoD CIO IPv6-related policies and directives-Experience with IPv6 mobile IP network-BA or BS degree in CS or a related field
Clearance:
