Role Summary/Purpose:

The Critical Power (CP) Technical Solutions Director (TSD) is responsible for developing GE basis of design Critical Power solutions in the Region. In this position, you will establish key relationships with mission critical electrical consulting engineers and related end users to promote the use of GE Products and Services in their specifications. You will lead the efforts to fully understand the requirements of the industry as well as the various local electrical codes.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, in this role you will:
- Proactively promote and position GE early in the project phase to create value and influence
- Develop high level and own strategic relationships with key decision makers at mission critical electrical consultants
- Be responsible for developing Critical Power solutions covering all of GE product lines such as UPS, Paralleling Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches, Power Transformers, Substations, Switchgear, Switchboards, Bus-way, Panel-boards, Power Management/Automation/Software, and Service Solutions
- Drive identification, prospecting and creation of new sales opportunities/pipeline using Sales Force and other commercial tools
- Work closely with the Region Sales and Commercial Operations teams on projects throughout the sales cycle; from opportunity identification to post order close out
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications and provide budgetary estimates of GE equipment and system performance, hardware and price to consultants, and customers
- Train the commercial team to empower them with the latest technical knowledge and information and value proposition of the entire solution
- Provide feedback regarding market, product, pricing and competition trends and customer needs to product line marketing
- Help drive new product initiatives and commercialization, accelerate market segment penetration
- Drive thought leadership activities, attend mission critical conferences/events and participate in industry technical organizations and committees
- Coordinate with GE business specific specification engineers and other technical resources on projects, as well as new and existing electrical consultant coverage in the Region
- Provide key customer requirements to GE Product Management and Technology to help develop their multi-generation product plans
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years specifying electrical/critical power products
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within large territory as required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Desired Characteristics:
- Minimum of 7 years engineering or technical sales experience in the mission critical industry
- Excellent technical knowledge with UPS, paralleling switchgear and electrical distribution products
- Strong motivation/initiative, self-starter and accountability for results, ability to work without detailed direction
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), well established organizational and presentation skills
- Experience operating computer assisted engineering and design software programs
- Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship/team building
- Customer oriented and problem solving attitude
