PHYSICIAN CONTRACT BUSINESS ANALYST
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ARLINGTON PLAZA, ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA
Performs various business and financial analyses for the Physician Contracting Office. Monitors the physician
payments and payment process to include ensuring that payments match signed and approved physician
contracts. Ensures requestors follow established procedures. Maintains the standardized and centralized
system of contract administration, contract compliance, and contract database management. Observes and
analyzes daily workflows and policies and makes suggestions for improvements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or relevant
experience.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years related experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes operation of system; prepares recommendations and documentation to create and update fiscal
services and other related policies and procedures.
Approves items related to Payroll and Accounts Payable as they pertain to Physician Contracts and
payments. Reconciles payments to signed and approved physician contracts. Supports Payroll by tracking
and providing data related to physician compensation.
Assists in the maintenance of the physician contracts database. Maintains competence with physician
contracts database.
Assists with developing, managing, and maintaining the essential data related to physician contract
origination and administration, including fair market valuations and other compensation-related information.
Audits process and work product in compliance with established standards and policies.
Builds and generates reports detailing performance measures for how quickly and efficiently physician
contracts are completed.
Conducts and assists in the presentation of fiscal educational sessions as assigned.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department
policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation
regulations.
Coordinates and cooperates with any audits or investigations related to physician contracting.
Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on
committees and represents MedStar Health in community outreach efforts. Performs other related duties as
required
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reviews and evaluates administrative and planning studies as assigned.
Works with supporting departments at each MedStar entity involved in physician contracting including, but not
limited to, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Audit, Human Resources, Managed Care, Risk Management, Medical
Staff Office, and Office of the Medical Director.
Working Conditions
*May be required to travel to various locations as needed. Reliable transportation may be required.
