UNIX/Linux Engineer

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a UNIX/Linux Engineer to join our client in Arlington, Virginia.

Job Overview:
- Qualified candidate will become a part of the Network Operations Center (NOC) staff.

Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all NOC activities and be responsible to conduct shift change briefings and status reports between shifts and as needed services provided to FDIC customer.
- The NOC personnel will be using Remedy Trouble ticket system for reporting all troubles reported on the FDIC Networks.
- Monitor networks, nodes, and services for interruptions.
- NOC personnel use various software based troubleshooting tools to perform problem isolation, evaluation and resolution.
- NOC personnel will resolve issues reported to the NOC from multiple sources including trouble tickets, phone calls and automated alerts.
- Manage daily operation of a wide variety of systems including UNIX and Windows Servers as well as networking equipment, printers, other peripheral devices and databases.
- Resolve critical system issues on a 24x7 basis including notification, escalation and coordination across organizations.
