Description
The purpose of Data Architect Intern is to assist the IT department with day-to-day tasks with respect to data design, management and usage. The Intern/Co-op will work closely with data architects and business analysts to successfully complete various projects as assigned. The Intern/co-op will also learn real-world concepts and methodologies as it relates to the data design, management and usage.

Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on involvement in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of design artifacts such as conceptual/logical data architectures and their respective physical data models
- Learn, understand and contribute to Data Architecture standards, patterns, and best practices
- Obtain broad and deep level knowledge of Data Architecture/Modeling techniques and methodologies
- Participate in development of high-level estimates in support of business case development
- Participate and learn problem solving and troubleshooting of data architectures and related physical databases, responding quickly and effectively to production issues and seek resolution
- Provide educational/mentoring resources to project teams and others
- Participate in reviews of data architecture designs

Qualifications
- Pursuing a major in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science or MIS
- Completion of minimum of 1-2 years engineering and systems engineering related coursework
- Working knowledge of Engineering and Management concepts and techniques
- Ability to facilitate effective and efficient meetings to gather information and outline process
- Work successfully in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment in which meticulous attention to detail is expected.
- Exhibits exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and analytical/problem solving skills.
- Takes initiative to accomplish business objectives, seek new assignments, and request to learn more about the business.
- Knowledge of business support applications such as MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Project) required
- Knowledge and/or experience with Visio is preferred
