.Net/SharePoint Development Lead

Summary:
The Development Lead will possess both a thorough technical background as well as outstanding managerial and leadership capabilities. Extremely strong oral and written communication skills are required for this position. This person must be a hands-on (20-30% development) technical contributor to the enterprise wide projects and is responsible and accountable for providing architectural direction and governance over the implementation of all technical solutions and initiatives. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity that offers a competitive rate, and salary + bonus incentive once converted to perm.
Responsibilities:
- This is a HANDS-ON role, you must be able to do (20-30%) development and contribute to the projects.
- Assist the PMO in planning, coordinating and monitoring the progress of internal and enterprise development projects.
- Act as the technology expert in the development and review of request for proposals, system specifications and scope of work documents.
- Evaluate and recommend third party development partners to work independently or jointly with the client development staff.
- Work with client's infrastructure team in the establishment and maintenance of development, quality assurance and production environment.
- Act as the enterprise architect in designing enterprise wide solutions within client's private data center as well as within a dedicated hosting cloud environment.
- Assume management responsibilities for all aspects of the development staff, including hiring, training, motivating and evaluations.
- Report on the status of current projects, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Serve as the technology sponsor and evangelist to the Information Technology Steering Group consisting of client's and its 8 Regional Entities.
Qualifications:
- A strong background in leading and/or mentoring staff in technical disciplines.
- 15+ years experience of hands-on application and enterprise wide development as well as a strong background in systems design and integration.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture/Data Architecture
- Expertise on core technologies including but not limited to SharePoint 2010, SOA, WCF, nHibernate, Microsoft unit test, SQL Server, C# and Workflow engines such as K2 BlackPearl.
- A strong understanding and experience in systems architecture, the use of design patterns, Object Oriented Design, and best practices leading to enterprise wide reusable components is required.
- Experience in the design and construction of Data Warehouses or Data Marts is a plus.
- The candidate will have a strong understanding of the entire development life cycle and will in addition to development be responsible for establishing and maintaining client's configuration management and quality assurance practices. These processes will include both internal development as well as that performed by client's vendors.
