Senior .NET Developer

Extremely fast-growing and fast-paced company located Downtown has an immediate need for a Senior .NET Developer on a contract to perm basis. In this role, you will develop web-based applications/solutions, primarily for presentation-tier and middle-tier development tasks. You must be a problem-solver at heart and have a customer-focused mindset.

Must live within a manageable distance from the Downtown area.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and understand specific requirements, technical specification documentation, design, architecture, implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, troubleshooting, and code management for assigned projects and deliverables
• Work with the Tech Lead to understand technical specification documents to ensure adherence to defined client requirements
• Assist with all presentation-tier and middle-tier development and customization
• Work with team to program and code apps; understand and work from requirements - use cases, UML diagrams and prototypes.
• In addition to serving as a primary development resource during building phases, also participate in other phases of the SDLC, including technical requirement documentation, development of specifications, and defect resolution
• Practice creativity in conducting project activities and resolving project-related issues.
• Internal responsibilities: Ensure deliverable quality and SDLC compliance
• Design software applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS amongst others
• Use C# ASP.NET and XML/XSL or ASP with VBScript, COM+ with VB 6.0 and XML/XSL running on Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows 2003 and Microsoft Windows 2008 platforms.
• Use T-SQL queries and Stored Procedures on Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 for simple CRUD operations.
• Complete all project related tasks and ensure on time delivery of all project deliverables
• Interact daily with numerous individuals (BAs, PMs, etc.), onsite and offsite.

Requirements:

• 5+ years .NET development experience -- primarily spent delivering web-based applications. Must have worked for a software company at some point in the past. Full SDLC.
• 4+ years development experience using ASP.NET/ADO.NET/C#, T-SQL, Web Services
• Proficient in analysing software requirements and documenting technical specifications for a web-based solution
• Customer services attitude, problem solver, excellent comm. skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members
• Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, 1 year of XML/XSL.
• 5+ years working with MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008.
• Proficient with version control tools and code management best practices.

Preferences:

• ASP.NET MVC, Javascript framework preferably jQuery.
• Bachelor's Degree
