Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE)

Define, design, implement and test software applications using a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to:

• Java/J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL, Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Ruby, JavaScript/AJAX, HTML and Scripting languages
• Assist team members in design discussions and decisions
• Perform code and design reviews with other team members
• Evaluate new technologies, and assess their benefits to our product stack.Serve as a mentor and advisor to other team members.
• The mentor role can be both formally requested by the individual's manager as well as personally driven when a need or opportunity is observed
• Interact with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to define test plans and test data; identify reproduce and document defects; fix and verify defects
• Interact daily with Product Management team to clarify requirements or suggest changes during the implementation of the enhancements.
• Interact with the User Experience (UX) team to identify, design and implement the user interface portions of the applications.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in advanced Java programming, including JSP, Servlet, JDBC and application Servers required
• Java, Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate required
• Proficiency with HTML and JavaScript/Ajax required
• TestNG or other unit testing methodologies preferred
• Proficiency with dynamic languages such as Ruby, Groovy etc. preferred
• Basic database design required
• Stored procedure writing, PL/SQL preferred
• Agile and/or Scrum experience desired
• Struts or GWT preferred
• Agile product development experience preferred
• Scrum Master Certification (or similar Agile certification) a plus

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent required.
