They are looking for a versatile Sr. SQL DBA capable of learning on the job to support the production infrastructure in Amazon EC2, engineering application, and our production databases. With over 1TB of storage, they are looking for a capable DBA to manage database operations, including index maintenance, performance monitoring, and growth management. Candidates should have a desire to work in a small, fast growing company with a high level of autonomy and accountability

Responsibilities:

-Microsoft SQL Server administration and maintenance functions of production, staging, and QA databases
-Participate in database server architecture and design as well as server environment recommendations for the overall infrastructure solution including storage capacity planning
-Responsible for database alerts, maintenance plans and scripts
-Manage database security and control access permissions and privileges
-Maintain the health, performance and integrity of the database systems
-Responsible for availability, reliability and integrity of business data stored in production databases
-Communicate regularly with the development team, business and operations team to ensure the security and confidentiality of data
-Resolve production database issues with team members and implement improvements to prevent a recurrence of the issue
-Backup and restore databases as necessary
-Troubleshooting - provider tier 2/3 support to identify system issues and resolve in Real Time or log engineering bugs

Qualifications:

  5+ years of SQL Server Administration
  Scripting skills (.NET, Powershell)
  Solid understanding of automated testing and continuous integration
  Excellent technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  Experience with Amazon EC2 (preferred)
