Description
The Technical Architect (Audience Management) is responsible for design patterns & architecture for AutoTrader's Audience Management platforms. The Technical Architect must evaluate functional and technical business requirements and transform those requirements into solutions that enable expected data processing & analytic capabilities to support the business & strategic initiatives of the enterprise. The design patterns designed and built by the Technical Architect must be high-performing, which requires deep knowledge of the Netezza, Analytical and preferably Hadoop platforms. The Technical Architect must analyze, document and promote standards and patterns that represent the established industry best practices for Audience Management. Individuals in this role are also responsible for researching, demonstrating and providing guidance on emerging and well-trusted techniques and industry trends as well as maintaining expert knowledge of internal and external-facing systems. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills with BI engineering team members, Enterprise Architects, ETL developers, Data Architects, operations support staff and business stakeholders. In addition, the successful Technical Architect must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities
Provide thought leadership and hands-on involvement in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Audience Management design artifacts
Work with the development and architecture teams to establish Audience Management Architecture standards, patterns, and best practices
Maintain broad and deep level knowledge of Audience Management techniques and methodologies
Participate in the development of high-level estimates in support of business cases
Lead the Audience Management teams towards higher re-use & consistent definitions of Predictive Models, Consumer Segmentation etc
Ensure that architecture patterns for the implementation of business rules are consistently followed
Develop and own the Audience Management roadmap to evolve the enterprise's data processing & Real Time analytics capabilities
Help govern the Audience Management technical architecture & licensing, working in conjunction with the Operations & Support teams
Define and evangelize best practice design and Audience Management methodologies
Perform architecture reviews and own Audience Management related decisioning within the Data Architecture Review Board (DARB) process
When necessary, serve as an escalation point for problem solving and troubleshooting of Audience Management & related architecture issues, responding quickly and effectively to production issues and taking accountability for seeing those issues through resolution
Provide educational/mentoring resources to Audience Management teams and others
Bring Enterprise Architecture knowledge into project teams while exposing project-related architectural issues to the architecture team. Provide educational/mentoring resources to technical teams.
Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor with key internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent experience
Minimium 3+ years experience with Netezza, at high-volumes, preferrably with Site Activity
Minimum 2+ years experience with the Hadoop ecosystem
2+ years architecting solutions for high-volume weblog processing
Thorough understanding of Data Warehousing architectures, techniques, and methodologies; including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and Aggregation Techniques
Working understanding of advanced SQL techniques, including analytic (window) functions
Working understanding of relational database performance structures and techniques; specifically indexing (including bitmap), materialized views, and partitioning
The successful candidate would be expected to handle and seek out complex challenges, assignments, and initiatives and establish himself/herself as a thought leader
Minimum 5 to 8 years of IT delivery experience, especially in the full development life cycle of Data Warehousing solutions in a production environment
