Technology Communications and Training Co-op - STUDENT CO-OP PROGRAM-131083

Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the IT Communications and Training department with day-to-day tasks with respect to IT communications and training strategy, processes, and content. The intern will work closely with business managers to successfully complete various projects as assigned. The intern will also learn real-world concepts and methodologies as it relates to the communications planning and execution, process analysis, and training.

Responsibilities:

Analysis
- Assist with monthly training reports for IT leadership by correlating training requests, actuals, and 2012 training plans.
- Analyze existing business processes and make improvement recommendations that assist the business in achieving its goals and objectives.
- Create and report on surveys.
- Process Improvement Projects: Analyzing existing process, researching improvement opportunities, implementing solution
- IT Portfolio/Project Reporting: Analyzing IT project portfolio and creating reports describing major accomplishments and achievement for IT. Producing Content for regular strategy reports, newsletters, and ad hoc reports
- Improving tools/applications: Researching and recommending, implementing innovative tools/applications for daily business procedures/processes
- Data Analysis: working in excel to process data analysis requests, creating reports in PowerPoint and excel

Accomplishments and KPIs
- Process improvement analysis/recommendations.
- Data gathering and compilation on a monthly basis
- Create a KPI tracking sheet for Technology C&T

Documentation
- Perform design and updates of Technology SharePoint portal.
- Assist with documentation requests.
- Assist with communications requests.
- Providing support with Communications: Subject Matter Expert Interviews, researching and drafting articles for Technology Leadership

Events
- Providing support: Help administer quarterly all-hands meetings and other events

Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or MIS.
- Working knowledge of corporate communications and writing concepts and techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to facilitate effective and efficient meetings to gather information.
- Work successfully in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment in which meticulous attention to detail is expected.
- Exhibits exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
- Takes initiative to accomplish business objectives, seek new assignments, and request to learn more about the business.
- Knowledge of such business support applications as MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project) required.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Visio is preferred.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with SharePoint is preferred.
