Web Developer (Ajax)

Position Description:

Projects include streaming video, live data streaming, template-driven publishing, design implementation, prototyping, social media integration, automated syndication of content, and web analytics. The technology stack includes custom-built applications and publishing systems, as well as a growing commitment to open source technologies.

Qualifications: :

• 2-4 years experience developing web sites, including mobile web
• Thorough understanding of the web and web browsers, their capabilities and limitations.
• Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis.
• Good interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Proficiency in the following:

o HTML and CSS
o Javascript and popular Javascript frameworks (jQuery, Underscore.js, Backbone.js).
o AJAX o 1 or more Server Side web publishing language/framework (ie PHP, JSP, Perl/CGI, or python)
o XML/XSLT
o OO design and development
o GIT, SVN or CVS
o UNIX

PREFERRED:

• Development experience with SQL
• Experience automating the publishing of web content.
• Experience working in high-profile, high-volume web publishing environments is a strong plus.
• Mobile web development experience.
• Experience integrating modern social media APIs into a web site.
