The Data Governance Manager facilitates the creation of Enterprise Data Governance processes, standards and procedures according to Industry Best Practices to ensure information is a fully utilized asset. Work with cross functional data stewards (technical and business) to resolve issues and recommend solutions.

Reporting Information/Location

The Data Governance Manager is located at Auburn Hills Operations Center and reports to the Vice President of the Data Management Office. This position has direct reports.

Position Responsibilities

1. Facilitate the creation and ownership of Enterprise Data Governance processes according to Industry Best Practices. (eg, assess current state, identify source of truth, establish forums and COE, identify Data Providers, Data Custodians, Data Consumers, incorporate activity into PMO, etc.)

2. Responsible for working with business units to define and communicate data usage and standards, policies and procedures for the organization to ensure a common business vocabulary, consistent information and ability to leverage data across functions and business units.

3. Ensure data governance processes comply with existing and emerging regulatory requirements. (eg consumer privacy laws, outsourced data and specific banking industry guidelines such as HIPAA)

4. Manage and oversee the Enterprise Data Governance activities.

5. Partner with cross functional data stewards (technical and business) and recommend solutions to resolve issues in data policies, data definitions, data usage, data quality and metrics.

6. Work with solution architects to identify appropriate data source and standards for technology projects.

7. Partner with BRM organization to establish positive relationships with clients to understand, business direction and data requirements.

8. Act as point of contact for IS and communicate all decisions and activities to stakeholders

9. Meet with stakeholders to review data quality performance reports. Understand data quality issues and create action plans to resolve.

10. Establish and maintain guidelines for Data Sharing and Custodial agreements. (ie, requirements, frequency, type, etc.)

11. Develop, analyze and maintain metrics for measuring adherence and improvement.

12. Provide project estimates for data governance and administration activities.

13. Apply accepted data content standards to technology projects.

14. Oversee data modelling activity including data model documentation and metadata.

15. Manages requests for changes and prioritizes work based on business needs and available resources.

16. Management of a highly skilled technical staff, performing administrative functions including PMPs, monitoring daily performance, addressing performance issues, training, career development, time management and regular communications.

17. Expert knowledge of Comerica's Data Strategy, promoting and incorporating the Data Strategy as appropriate.

18. Leads the creation, implementation, communication and on-going support of data standards and processes.

19. Participate in the development and presentation of plans and strategies to leadership to gain their support and concurrence.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 10 of experience in data related activities.
- 7 years of experience in Data Governance activities and knowledge of best practices
- 7 years of experience with Master Data Management
- 5 years of experience with various data related functions such as data integration
