Senior Unix Systems Administrator

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator to join our client in Auburn Hills, MI.

Job Overview:

The Senior UNIX Systems Administrator is responsible for the Operational Support of a number of systems across multiple sites. This includes monitoring and improving monitoring of these systems; responding to and ensuring resolution of operational issues.

Job Qualifications:

- Five to six (5-6) years of experience with all aspects of administering multiple Servers at an enterprise level.
- Must have demonstrated expertise in UNIX server administration
- Must have experience with Solaris virtualization and cluster technologies, and extensive experience with PERL and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with the following:

- Teamquest performance monitoring software
- DTRACE
- Halcyon monitoring agents
- Firewall and load balancer technologies
- Solaris certification
- RBAC (Role Based Access Control)
- LDAP

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

- Highly experienced with SPARC based systems
- Experience in SUN cluster 3.x (HA containers)
- Deployment of LDOMS and Containers
- Experienced with Server hardening and JASS template.
- Designing, implementing, and supporting Solaris and Linux Servers.
- Experience working with Perl and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with Oracle's Ops center performing, monitoring, patching and deployments.
- Available to participate in after-hours system maintenance.
- Developing and executing test plans and managing test environments.
- Skill in analysing and improving system efficiency.
- Participating on a variety of project teams to integrate and deploy infrastructure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team dynamic and self-manage tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Problem resolution and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge and experience working with ITIL based processes.
- Ability to perform reporting, analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting using tools such as Operating System utilities and hardware diagnostic utilities
