Purpose and Description: 
The individual identified for this position will perform development functions with emphasis coding and unit testing developed application components. The developer will be responsible for the delivery of blocks of Java code to support the Healthcare Reform project. The primary function will be to develop Java code based on logical design and requirements, and unit test this code to ensure it functions properly. This individual will also work closely with the national and regional users. 

Essential Functions: 
Develop Java code based on functional and non-functional requirements, and unit test this code to ensure all requirements are met. 
Analyze and review business, functional and high-level technical requirements. 
Create and support detailed project estimates and project work plans. 
Develop code jointly and independently for the Healthcare Reform solution. 
Plan, participate, and lead code reviews for changes and enhancements that ensure standards compliance and systems interoperability. 
Create test plans for module-level integration and tracking/resolving defects. 
Identify code support issues, action resolutions, and provide technical assistance. 
Effectively communicate with other Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Quality Control, and across other technology team boundaries 
Required Experience: 

5+ years of work development work experience in developing J2EE/JEE applications. 
5+ years of experience with Agile Scrum software development methodology. 
4+ years of experience with SOAP and/or Restful web services using Java. 
3+ years of experience with Linux operating system development environment. 
3+ years of experience with ExtJS, Spring, RestEasy, Apache CXF, and Apache POI development frameworks. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
Ability to work in a team environment, but take on new assignments with minimal direction 

Preferred Experience: 

Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) 
Experience with Apache Tomcat Application Server 
Experience in the Healthcare industry/domain 

Required Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in a related field
