We have a Data Center Solution Consultant position with a growing, award-winning, solutions company in the greater Austin vicinity, which provides high-impact business solutions to middle-market companies, nationally and internationally.
In this role, you'll be responsible for providing technical support, and project implementations for a dynamic and growing technology managed services provider (MSP). This is an excellent opportunity to help a company grow, learn best industry practices and be compensated accordingly.
Some of the things you'll be doing:
* Provide support remotely and onsite at the client locations for email, desktops, Servers and networks
* Implement network and server projects: VPN, LAN/WAN, and networked systems
* Provide Tier 3 support to issues escalated from Technical Support team
* Create customer Managed Service proposals
* Work with operations team to create technology solution proposals for customers
* Managing the on-site implementation of Managed Services projects
* Insure on premise customer network and server SLA objectives are maintained
* Troubleshoot and resolve problems of all shapes and sizes inside customer environments
* Maintain customer server and network environments
* Document complex processes and procedures
* Evaluate current customer systems to identify areas of improvement
* Utilize current monitoring tools to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
* Design, develop, and implement documentation or tools appropriate to the maintenance of application platforms
* On-call support for escalated off-hours issues
* Insure critical system backups are maintained of on-site customer servers
* Provide expertise to Datacenter engineers recommending Datacenter network and server designs
* Occasionally help with Datacenter maintenance and upgrade projects
What you need for this position:
* At least 3-years of experience working on-site with customer Servers and network equipment, designing server and network solutions for small and medium customers, and working with Windows Server Operating System
* 4-year degree
* Solid knowledge of the following:
-Backup/recovery using enterprise class backup solutions
-TCP/IP networking
-Enterprise VMware environments
-Windows Active Directory concepts
* Must have good network concepts of enterprise class firewalls
* Experience in the SAN environment is preferred (ISCSI and Fiber Channel)
* Knowledge in data storage protocols including CIFS and NFS are preferred
