SDLC Project Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree in a technology or business field and 3 years related experience in project management.

- Alternative Requirements Accepted: Bachelors Degree in a technology or business field and 5 years related experience in project management

- 2 years experience using the SDLC methodology in a leadership role;

- Must have at least one of the following: Project Management Professional (PMPĀ®), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSMĀ®)

Job Requirements

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Develops software solutions for Rackspace customers by facilitating the Software Development Life Cycle (Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing, Evaluation & Maintenance). Executes the SDLC & methodology practices within a Project/Program Management structure (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Discusses with other software development personnel to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Suggests and implements SDLC methodology practices with approval from superior personnel, facilitation & coordination across cross-functional SDLC teams, basic mentoring of lower-level SDLC project team members. Handles 2-3 software projects at a time. Handles change and risk using SDLC methodology implementation best practices. Executes project/release plans, manages change, and facilitates software development project deliverables while communicating with upper-level software project stakeholders along the way. Maintains full transparency using metrics, reports, or other common SDLC reporting formats. This position focuses on project management; it is not a managerial-level position. The employee will not supervise any other employees, manage a function, or a department at the company.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities utilized: Knowledge of software requirements engineering (CMM/CMMI, elicitation, definition, analysis, specification, and validation, use cases, user stories, etc.). Knowledge of software QA/testing processes and test types (automated, functional, integration, load, model-based, penetration, performance, acceptance, black box, white box, negative, exploratory, etc,). Understanding and experience with software development terms/concepts. Knowledge and experience executing software development projects using various SDLC methodology implementation best practices. Understanding of multiple SDLC methodologies typically employed. Knowledge of Agile concepts, values, implementations and how they are used to influence productivity, communications and reliability within software development. Knowledge and experience managing projects within a SDLC framework using appropriate project management practices. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Collaborative attitude in driving decisions. Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail. Good time management skills and experience leading cross functional teams. Knowledge and experience with SDLC concepts such as Object Oriented design/development (OOA/OOD), refactoring, test driven development (TDD), continuous integration & delivery (CI/CD), and attribute driven architecture (ADA).
