Software Engineer Windows Update

Our client is the leading computer components manufacturing company seeking a Software Engineer to debug and bring up Win 8 tablets.

Responsibilities will include:

• Installing OS and drivers regularly using automated install programs
• Validating installation
• Using debug software scripts to confirm
• Troubleshooting the system
• Following directions to collect additional information
• Possibly updating device drivers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have experience debugging windows 8
• Basic debugging skills
• Basic Device Driver skills
• Experience installing and using Windows programs on Windows 7
• Experience with Windows 8 a big plus
• Knowledge to enter a BIOS setup screen, change configuration settings
• Ability to follow published procedures to install the OS and software on systems under test
• Ability to work with debug cards plugged into a system under test (plug/unplug debug connectors, identify different types of connectors and follow directions to plug stuff in)
• Ability to follow procedures to configure debug software, run debug scripts
• Ability to run simple test scripts, capture results, and report results clearly (with some guidance)
• Experience with Python a big plus
• Experience with Windows debugging through serial interfaces a huge plus
