What You Will Do:
As a Medical Lab Scientist I you will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team performing waived, moderate and high complexity testing while maintaining proper records and utilizing resources to generate quality test results. You will identify and resolve problems and take corrective action in evaluating testing procedures, patient results and specimen integrity. You will also respond to clinical and customer concerns and resolves customer issues in a confidential manner, employing integrity and discretion.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Proficient knowledge of clinical laboratory processes, analytical procedures, and various laboratory equipment including routine maintenance and calibration.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences or related field. Must be eligible for certification by a nationally recognized program, eg ASCP or equivalent and obtain certification within 12 months of employment. A successful completion of a NACCLS accredited clinical rotation or at least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in an accredited hospital or reference laboratory setting is also required.
