Technical Director Architect

About the Role and Responsibilities

Location: Beaverton, OR

About the Role:

As the Technical Director Architect for McAfee's Endpoint Business Unit you will be you will be responsible evolving large existing code bases by defining and driving a unified endpoint architecture that supports all of McAfee's enterprise endpoint products, including anti-malware, host intrusion prevention, website reputation and browsing protection, whitelisting and encryption. You will work with globally distributed teams to ensure consistency, alignment with long-term vision and goals, and successful product releases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Forming and articulation of long term product strategy - collaboration with Product Management, Sales Engineers, Support, Customers, and Engineering to create a forward looking roadmap
- Driving product releases and core architecture - ensuring integrity of architecture and product releases have the right features in the right timeframe
- Facilitating cross-team collaboration for a globally distributed organization - supporting integrations, evangelizing strategy, enforcing best practices and incorporating feedback from integrators
- Identifying and resolving key technical issues
- Presentations to customers, partners and internal stakeholders
- Investigation of potential M&A and partner opportunities

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills & Education:

- Proficient in cross-platform C and C++ development
- Kernel and Windows internals experience required, OSX and Linux is desirable
- Experience with Android, iOS, and Windows RT is desirable
- Experience with performance analysis and tuning in Kernel and user mode code
- Web server frameworks - Apache, Tomcat, HTML/CSS, SQL, and JavaScript
- Security industry expertise - understanding of the threat landscape, malware techniques, and how anti-malware, host intrusion prevention, Firewall, and other technologies protect from threats
- Experience with secure coding, crypto, and principles of designing secure systems
- Agile development expertise, ideally scrum
