The SEO Progrm Manager will be responsible for creating & managing search engine optimization and organic traffic strategies to all MSN O&O properties and work with Partners and content providers. This position reports to the Director of SEO. You will work closely with other product managers, analysts, development leads, media and engineering to champion and implement product requirements.
The position requires proven expertise in a program manager capacity where SEO was your primary responsibility. Preference shall be given to those with direct client side experience on high volume consumer-facing web properties.
Responsibilities:
§ Create and manage all SEO functional requirements and Agile focused stories for defining PRDs. Work directly with our media, development engineers and other online Program Manager stakeholders to implement and operationalize SEO led/influenced projects.
§ Manage day-to-day SEO operations including new product initiatives, content optimization, link building campaigns, and reporting & analysis
§ Lead and prioritize SEO projects within business units to ensure SEO traffic and audience strategies goals are met
§ Collaborate with product, content, and technology teams to manage entire lifecycle of SEO initiatives from idea conception to post launch reporting & analysis
§ Lead and prioritize site SEO IA architecture, content and linking projects
§ Deep understanding of search engine technology, functionality and optimization tactics
§ Excellent grasp of Internet business & marketing strategies - how to build, improve and grow a successful property on the web
§ Significant experience with web design, usability, UX/UI, and conversion process
§ Understanding of (though not necessarily code fluent in) XHTML/CSS, JavaScript/Actionscript, basic web server technology, database software/functionality.
§ Expertise in social media marketing/optimization (SMM/SMO) on the web, including designing linkbait and viral marketing campaigns and releasing them for maximum impact
§ Participate in the long-term SEO strategy for MSN and O&O properties and Partner sites with the goal of continually increasing natural organic search engine traffic & growing select VIP traffic segments
§ Lead the direction and operational goals of link building & inbound marketing activities for agency & 3rd party engagements (agencies, consultants, campaigns, etc.)
§ Define, monitor, and analyze SEO key performance indicators (KPI's) to continually improve campaigns
§ Create & manage ongoing visit based KPIs and traffic forecasting for all organic search related initiatives
§ Serve as SEO evangelist by providing guides, resources and presentations to the internal product, content, media and technology teams
§ Compile industry research, competitive landscape information, and trade intelligence for SEO strategy development and optimization
o Develop keyword strategies for optimal on-site performance
o Provide detailed site analysis
o Provide actionable competitive analysis
o Develop detailed recommendations for site changes
o Develop a comprehensive linking strategy
§ Educate content writers, content managers and content partners on SEO best practices
§ Define, monitor, and analyze SEO key performance indicators (KPI's) to continually improve campaigns
o Establish SEO audit baselines
o Establish SEO performance baselines
o QA all SEO recommendations, before and after launch
o Analyze monthly search engine performance reports to determine if new optimizations are needed
o Monitor competitor site changes and recommend site changes as necessary

Required Experience:
BA/BS in Marketing, IT, Computer Science, or related field
Min 5 years related experience, 2+ years of search engine optimization experience (natural/organic search marketing)
Familiarization of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, SEO analytical programs
Experience with keyword research and search engine ranking and analysis tools
General understanding of HTML, CSS, and web server environments
High attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage multiple projects
Ability to work independently and synthesize large amounts of data
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Willingness to work in a dynamic team environment
