As a Business Development Manager at Micron, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new strategic business, product, and service opportunities to ensure profitable growth for Micron's NAND Solutions Group (NSG). This includes driving the ramp of new business (design wins), and developing the mid/long term product engagement and enablement strategy for storage related solutions at the target customers. In this position, you will work closely with Sales, Strategic Planning, Corporate Development, and the entire global marketing organization. This position will report to the Director of Business Development for OEM and Channel customers.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Strategy for strengthening and expanding NSG's engagements with Micron's Tier 1 OEM customers
- Partnering with Sales to develop the customer engagement strategy that support NSG's business objectives.
- Identifying early market trends by researching industry and related events, publications, announcements, and customer feedback.
- Developing a comprehensive 3 year business plan including revenue, design win targets and marketing objectives in conjunction with Sales and/or directly with the account.
- Delivering concise account strategy and account action plan presentations to Executive management.
- New business development
- Discovering new types of business, product, and service opportunities.
- Developing business cases and driving decisions for new business opportunities (may include new products, product features, or custom versions of existing products).
- Aligning technical requirements within Marketing and Strategic Planning.
- Promotion
- Collaborating with Product Marketing & Marketing Communications to develop the PR strategy at targeted customer(s).
- Assisting in the development of market introduction strategies and identifying supporting collateral.
- Customer trade show support strategy and alignment.
- Planning:
- Driving quarterly business reviews with targeted customers.
- Providing monthly update of long term customer business plans.
- Cross business unit collaboration
- Align with other Micron business units on the targeted account objectives, strategies, and messaging.
- Drive and support the One Micron initiative that will help Micron's sales team successfully position our products and value proposition.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- A minimum of 8 years experience in either marketing, business development or a technical related field in the Personal Compute and Enterprise Storage market segments.
- NAND semiconductor, or server and storage array experience a plus.
- Demonstrated people and management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and customers.
- A proven track record in driving the development of new products and services, product positioning, competitive assessment, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding of the global industry network (enablers, OEMs, ODS, sales channels).
- A passion for identifying new applications and emerging trends for which Flash storage can play a strategic role.
- Established interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts into customer consumable benefits.
- Strong presentation skills.
- An outgoing, energetic personality.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word.
- Willingness to travel when necessary (approximately 30%).
Education:
Minimum of BS degree in Business, Marketing, or related degree. MBA preferred.
