Job Description

As a Fab 4 Software Engineer, you will support software for manufacturing in the Process R&D 300mm environment using client/server, database, and Web application development tools. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) schedule, track, manages the flow, and reports on all product produced at multiple sites around the world. Engineering systems, data analysis, data extraction, reporting and various other data warehouse systems are also in scope for the team. Software engineers in the groups supporting R&D participate in analysis and design meetings and develop subject matter expertise on complex software solutions to business problems.

Other duties include participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers, developers, and infrastructure groups across all sites; and communicating timely status to the customer and lead. Travel to remote sites may also be required.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

- Involved and participate in daily Boise Site I.S. incident update meeting from Process R&D perspective.
- Design and build various support, maintenance, and metrics gathering utilities. Collecting and analyzing data (as required) to support automation and customer teams, present data to various groups and levels of management.
- Define and make suggestions that improve production, engineering, and process related issues. Learn new tools in the effort to maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing software.
- In-Fab meetings, management reviews, and IT group coordination where applicable/necessary.
- Proactive monitoring and reaction to line & IT system performance metrics/indicators.
- Creating, maintaining, and managing training documentation for 1st & 2nd level IT support groups.
- Coordination and involvement with any IT related Major events affecting operations including management of any required post mortems and associated communication.
- Involved with local site Process R&D Problem management.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have good communication, leadership, problem solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge in several of the following areas is a plus: client/server and/or Web development, C#, Visual Basic (.NET), MSSQL, Perl, XML, HTML, Windows, Linux and Unix. Candidates should have strong organizational and project management skills, technical direction, and vision. A background in manufacturing tracking would be strongly beneficial and previous exposure to manufacturing systems and processes is a plus. Ideal candidates should also have:

- A drive to continuously learn and improve. The ability to enjoy working with both customers and peers in a positive professional manner.
- The ability to work on several critical tasks at once as well as work with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility with work schedule maintaining a high level of commitment.
- The ability to effectively communicate with groups across different departments and sites.
- The ability to solve problems across group boundaries.
- A proven ability to drive for results, eliminate distractions and place the proper focus on the tasks necessary for success.

Education:

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required. Equivalent experience and other related certifications will be considered.
