IT Consultant to support growing IT/Cloud Services company Solutions Architect Boston's premier technology consulting firm is looking to add an individual who has a passion for learning new technologies, enjoy working with like-minded peers, can communicate professionally and possess technical proficiencies throughout the IT spectrum.
As the Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for a complex set of client environments both onsite and remotely. This includes both forward thinking proactive work, reactive support and network administration work. The ideal candidate will have a customer service mindset and the skills to provide technical support to small business end users and business executives. Candidate must be familiar with supporting Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, MAC OS X, and Linux. This person must be driven, outgoing, and flexible and have excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate is creative and an outside of the box thinker that has a passion for technology. This person will work directly with our technical staff members and our executives as frontline support to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Travel locally to assigned customer sites to perform support on a regular basis.
-Monitor status of network health at various client sites.
-Respond to Service Desk telephone calls and e-mail requests for technical support.
-Manage service desk, ensuring tickets are properly prioritized and addressed in a timely manner.
-Ensure that open service tickets are escalated and addressed appropriately.
-Communicate steps taken during troubleshooting and resolutions through clear non-technical communication, or by utilizing the appropriate level of technical references.
-Demonstrate the correct level of urgency while resolving client incidents
-Maintain documentation and auditing policies and procedures, user guides, system configuration management and diagramming (using VISIO).
-Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-5+ years†experience in the field (MSP experience preferred).
-Bachelor†s Degree desired.
-Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills proving all communication is clear, effective and timely.
-Possess excellent customer service skills.
-Ability to work both independently and as a team.
-Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
-Ability to diagnose, research and solve problems independently.
-Ability to escalate issues appropriately.
-Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
-Possess a go-getter mentality.
-Willingness to participate in after hours events and company outings.
-Willingness to pursue technical certifications.

Intermediate to Specialist on most or all:

• Full Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
