Responsibilities

As a member of the Global Technology Organization (GTO) Systems Team, this Senior Administrator will participate in the setup, design, implementation and administration of Linux based Servers. These Servers are running Redhat Linux, CentOS Linux, and Ubuntu Linux.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working with DevOps, the methodology in which developers and operations communicate and collaborate to deliver software more rapidly, more reliably, and with higher quality. Stressing communication and integration between software developers and systems technology professionals is critical. A key tenet of DevOps is automation, and building end-to-end automation is critical for organizations that globally deliver distributed applications at Internet scale in the cloud.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the setup, design and administration of RedHat, CentOS and Ubuntu Servers.
  • Daily system administration tasks & troubleshooting of linux based Servers.
  • Identify opportunities to create and deploy automation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for Cloud deployment and automation
  • System monitoring, tuning & support.
  • On Call Support of Servers & flexibility of hours on occasion for releases, upgrades, and maintenance windows.
  • OS & Software Installation/Configuration via automated methods such as Cobbler and Puppet.
  • Administer DNS, LDAP & Sendmail
  • Monitoring with Zenoss and Zabbix
  • Mentors Junior administrators
  • Collaborate with coworkers both in person and remotely (use of collaboration tools such as Webex, whiteboard/screen sharing, Google Hangouts & IRC.)

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • 8+ years of administering Linux Servers
  • 5+ years of Scripting (csh, Perl, etc.)
  • 3+ years of administering DNS, Sendmail, Apache, Tomcat
  • 3+ years of administering monitoring software (Zenoss/Zabbix/Nagios)
  • Ability to present to internal audiences and excellent communication skills
  • Experience in collaborating in the DevOps method where Development and Systems Professionals work together to rapidly produce products and services.
  • Experience in a hosting environment
  • Experience with Security best practices and remediation

Qualifications Desired:

  • Oracle/MySQL Database installation with Fibre Storage is a plus
  • BS Degree in CS/MIS or equivalent experience
  • Redhat Certified Professional/Engineer Certification
  • Familiarity with Dell hardware
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Linux and EMC Powerpath
