Responsibilities

The HE Mobile Program is focused on extending the reach of Pearson's learning applications and learning content to students and instructors on the full gamut of mobile devices. The program is responsible for developing mobile products (apps or mSites as appropriate) for use by the HE MyLab and Mastering learning applications and also for ensuring that mobile products developed by the HE MyLab and Mastering learning platforms form part of an integrated mobile experience for our customers.

As Software Product Manager you will have two key roles: the direct management of development of mobile products for the HE MyLab and MasteringLearning applications and coordinating with HE MyLab and Mastering Learning applications who are undertaking mobile product development to help ensure the consistency of the Pearson HE MyLab and Mastering mobile learning experience.

The Software Product Manager will be responsible for developing the vision for HE mobile products for the MyLab and Mastering applications in conjunction with the HE Mobile team. They will be responsible for translating that vision into an executable plan that delivers customer value on schedule and on budget. The Software Product Manager will work closely with Development, Project Management and UX to ensure that the products developed align with Pearson's market leading standards. They will also be responsible for the ongoing communication of that vision to the Business units whose customers will be using the mobile products.

In addition to managing the development of mobile products the Product Manager will also be responsible for liaising with MyLab and Mastering learning teams who are developing mobile products to ensure that there is a unified mobile approach and that our customers have the best possible experience of all our mobile products.

Responsibilities Include:
- Successfully manage HE Mobile Program projects from concept to completion
- Liaise with HE MyLab and Mastering Learning teams reporting status from those groups to the HE Mobile Program management and presenting Mobile Program goals and product status to the HE Learning Teams.
- Become an expert with respect to the customers and competition in the HE mobile area, with especial emphasis on productivity and administrative tools.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Qualifications

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent required
- 3+ years of software product marketing or product management experience, with demonstrated success defining and building excellent web-based and mobile products
- Product development experience designing for smartphone and tablets
- Broad experience with desktop and mobile operating systems
- Usability research skills
- Excellent teamwork, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with the mobile devices and applications with particular reference to the educational market.
- Experience working with Agile teams including the ability to create and manage a product backlog and make the appropriate prioritization choices.
- Technical experience with complex systems and the ability to explain those systems to non-technical audiences.
- Communication skills with both technical and non technical audiences and the ability to present a product strategy to an executive audience.
- This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America (10%).
