Looking for a professional that can help maintain existing database systems as well as help create new database solutions for upcoming projects. This job is a full time position and will require operating knowledge of SQL Databases and Microsoft Windows Server.

We maintain multiple Microsoft SQL databases. This position will be responsible for ensuring this system is running reliably, and that the database performance is always optimal.

Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the configuration, security, maintenance and uptime of the production databases.
-Ensure the data integrity of production databases and that they are securely backed up.
-Participate in the development process to answer developer requests.
-Data migration and archiving tasks.
-Database Server and Operating System updates - patches, service packs etc.
-Query Optimization Scripting and creating batch processes.
-Configure alerts and automated notifications.
-Active Directory integration.
-Maintain database permissions and creating/maintaining accounts.
-Document systems and procedures.
-Preventative and proactive maintenance on all databases and database Servers.
-Research upgrades and patches to the databases, database Servers, applications, application Servers, and install essential ones.
-Monitor security and activity logs. Document and investigate irregularities and make improvements where needed.
-Troubleshoot database and application performance problems.
-Create and maintain security on the Servers and databases.
-Work with various application vendors, departments, and end users to ensure most efficient use of database environment.

Qualifications:
-2-3 years of database administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
-2-3 years technical experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, and the support of complex database systems.
-Experience with the complete administration of Microsoft SQL Server.
-Microsoft Server 2008R2 and remote-app experience.
-Ability to perform ad-hoc queries.
-Experience with SQL service broker, Replication and SSIS is a plus.
-Good communication skills, strong teamwork and organization skills.
-Positive attitude, problem solving skills and self-imitative are must qualities.
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, preferred.
