We have an exciting new opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer at our client site in the Greater Denver Area. Join a fast paced high growth company who provides the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed wireless data devices for critical data transmission to oil and gas, utility, military and numerous other industries for over 18 years, with offices worldwide. The primary responsibility for this position will be to provide Embedded software sustaining engineering support for the Company's wireless product solutions. This includes adaptations and modifications to existing Embedded software to support new product features, product performance improvements, and cost reductions. Investigation, analysis and resolution of field issues and manufacturing issues will be key ongoing duties. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigation, analysis and resolution of field and manufacturing issues.
  • Design and implement Embedded software running on a variety of platforms.
  • Development of derived software requirements from system functional specifications and customer use cases, software functional design documents, unit test requirements.
  • Software code development and implementation, execute unit testing.
  • Maintain close communication with other software engineers, system architecture engineers, hardware engineers and System Integration/Test teams.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Embedded software development with emphasis on networking and wireless technologies.
  • Strong C and assembly language programming experience on Embedded systems encompassing software design, coding, testing and debugging.
  • Development of Embedded Linux software applications.
  • Real Time operating system concepts - semaphore, interrupt handling, task priority, threads, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge on network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, SNMP, FTP, DHCP and related interface protocols.
  • Programming experience in cross-compile environment.
  • Experience with various API and management interfaces.
  • Experience developing Embedded system board support packages and device drivers.
  • Strong protocol experience down to the PHY/MAC layers.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 6+ years of experience. Master's Degree would be a plus. 
  • Experience with encryption technologies and implementation a plus
  • Object Oriented software development C++ a plus.
