The Hardware Development Manager's focus will be on the design, development, and delivery of all levels of commercial wireless hardware with an emphasis on RF system development and devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Driving leading edge design and development of all levels of commercial wireless hardware.
  • Providing technical leadership and input in hardware development including architecture, high level design, tool selection, documentation, and support of deployed hardware systems.
  • Creating and implementing efficient and effective processes and policies to ensure timely and quality hardware development and delivery. This includes state-of-the-art methodologies for configuration management & control.
  • Direct management of all levels of Hardware & RF Development Engineers including recruiting, providing technical guidance, facilitating career management & growth, retention, and motivating the team.
  • Provide full hardware life cycle support from definition, architecture, design, implementation, unit & regression test, delivery, and support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years in the management of hardware development organizations. 15+ years related RF and Hardware development experience including experience in the development of wireless systems.
  • Experience with the latest schematic capture and layout software packages such as PADS and OrCAD.
  • Abilities with RF simulation, system analysis, and modelling tools such as ADS.
  • Experience in the development of wireless communications products (ie, cellular, terrestrial microwave, or satellite) and/or point to multipoint communications protocols.
  • BSEE with MSEE preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with wireless technologies and protocols such as 2G, 3G, and 4G cellular, WiFi, WiMAX, ZigBee, and Bluetooth.
  • Experience in FPGA implementations and development using VHDL or Verilog.
